Mack and Ryan back like they never left with this offering, the first from their upcoming full-length album. They pull out all the big-budget heartstring stops with this one—there’s even a children’s choir from Denny Middle School—but it’s still that intimate hushed-convo feel that the narrator specializes in, over the chamber music stylings of his classically trained crew. It should be noted that making an anti-Air Jordan (or at least anti-reckless con-shoe-merism) song is almost a revolutionary sentiment in hiphop, where cats make songs about their love for them, take press photos posed with them, licking them, prostrating themselves on the altar of the Swoosh. Step forward.
