King Smooth Ace - “I’m Ridin Diamond Jewelry Rims Spinnin”
I’m not sure how I came upon this clip but I sat there and watched the whole thing.
The King reps North Renton but I thought I heard some references to Missouri too? This song kinda blew me away in that it’s not a song, just a hella garbled-ass chant about riding what sounds like the most expensive rims in the world; random, unintelligible audio creeps in, chiefly dogs growling and whining. The video’s lack of context sort of puts you in a rap sensory deprivation tank as the same photos of KSA and random white guys (the producers maybe? videographer-goons?) float in and out, offering no explanation. It’s bewildering, which puts it 3 steps ahead of other such area trappery, which is usually merely piss-poor on every technical level. This does what 90% of cats that hand me shit fails to do—makes me want to find out more. What I found is a chopped & screwed version:
The King’s permasmirk kills me as he lipsyncs with the C&S version, another first as far as I know. Basically this dude fell and missed the ground, Arthur Dent-style- and now he’s flying. A quick perusal of his Myspace reveals he’s somehow working with G-Unit—can a kalab with MTK be far behind?
