Helluvastate - “Make Moves”
A ’79 Elco is parked crooked facing the water at Seward Park. The paint is flat, dotted with rust from constant rain slowly eroding the exterior. The driver’s door creaks loudly as it opens, loose tobacco spills onto the concrete, and with another moan from the door’s hinges it slams shut. The windows are slightly cracked, a bluish smoke escapes into the gray sky. A short time passes, then the ignition wheezes, the engine clears its throat and roars deeply as the car swings into reverse before pulling off, leaving behind a black cloud of exhaust.
First joint from the joint project from Helladope’s maestro Tay Sean and State Of The Artist’s standout TH, here redubbed Swan Coltrane and Thadwick Tristen Trevor III respectively. (It’s not just in the name either, as both MC’s show real growth or at least different sides of their previously displayed musical personalities. Tay Swan in particular seems to switched his style up nicely for this one.) Such a combo promises a lot and this laidback gem don’t slack. Fuck wit it.
