I don’t really know much about Southern rap. It’s embarrassing. But no matter how embarrassing it is, it doesn’t really matter, because all that really matters is I am super excited about Z-Ro right now. It’s great to hear some honest, earnest, show-your-work rap.
He’s got the blues.
Funny, in 1998, this was the LAST thing I would listen to. And I wouldn’t have listened to it because of the long denim shorts and the synthy R&B sound, and maybe the (somberly glorified) violence, and that’s why conscious rap is the devil you DON’T know.
